For some of you who find ko Samui too dirty or too much like a big city with too many construction sites, Phangan is the greatest place to relax & chill in the Gulf of Thailand. In case you are bored with laying on the beach, try something else. Koh Phangan has a few attractions like Kitesurfing, Dirtbike Rentals, Elefant Safaris, Jungle Trekking, Snorkeling, Thaiboxing, Yoga Classes,a Chinese Temple and Thai Cooking Lessons. As a popular paradise island not far from Samui and Koh Tao, Koh Phangan offers the perfect getaway from all the stress at home, where one may enjoy relaxing on quiet deserted beaches and try to snorkel and learning to dive at the small island of Ko Ma Koh Phangan is approximately 2 1/2 hours from Surat Thani Province and about 45 min. from Koh Samui Island by ferry. The easiest way from Bangkok to Phangan would be to buy ajoint ticket from Songserm Travel Center who operates joint ticket for (Boats and Express boats, buses, trains, airplanes) to Koh Phangan. Or another option is to fly an 1 hour flight by Bangkok Airways daily from Bangkok to Koh Samui and catch the speed boat to Koh Phangan.
